The player is presented with a grid filled with tiles containing numerical values. The objective is to combine tiles with matching values to create a tile with a value of 2048 by sliding adjacent tiles into each other.

The core mechanic revolves around dragging and swapping tiles to create combinations of adjacent tiles with the same value. This is achieved by sliding tiles upwards, downwards, left, or right, with only one tile allowed to be moved per turn. Each time a combination of two matching tiles is made, their values are merged into a single tile with a value equal to the sum of the two tiles.
