Players of Magic Solitaire hold a standard deck of cards and aim to clear the tableau by sequentially matching paired cards of equal rank. Cards are shuffled and dealt in a series of seven columns, with the top card in each column facing up. One card from each column is flipped face down to create an open deck.
The core mechanic involves using an empty foundation pile to move cards to in ascending order by suit or suit-building sequences in the tableau. Cards can be moved between columns if a playable card is exposed in the open deck, provided it is the same suit and in sequential order. Alternatively, players can draw the top card from the deck if the desired combination is not available.
The game runs in the browser without any downloads or registration required, allowing players to jump straight into the puzzling sequence match-up. The objective is to remove all the cards from the tableau, and the faster the player clears the deck, the better their performance.
