Four to Play takes place on a grid-based board, where two players focus on capturing opponent-controlled squares. One player places dots to mark the square for capture, while the other player responds with four possible positions for their corresponding square. The objective of the game is for one player to outmaneuver the other by capturing three of their opponent's marked squares. Capturing involves placing a square in a position occupied by the opponent's marked square. If a captured group of squares has only one free square available to return to the grid for placement by the original dot, the game is won by the player whose dot initiated the capture. Without download or registration, players can engage in both individual levels and local head-to-head matches against another player on the same machine or against a friend online via an internet connection. Matches can be played asynchronously, with one player making their moves between turns.
